Teaching is the work that a teacher does in helping students to learn. Teaching at its most literal level is educating and imparting knowledge is the most fundamental part of a teacher's job.
Definition of Teaching
Teaching is the process of attending to pupil's needs,experiences,feeling and making specific interventions to help them learn particular things.
Teaching includes the following functions.
- Creating learning situations
- Motivating the students to learn
- Arranging for conditions which assist in the growth of the child's mind and body
- Utilizing the initiative and play urges of the children to facilitate learning
- Turning the children into creative beings
- Inspiring children with the nobility of thoughts,feelings and actions
