INFORMATION

            The word information is derived from the latin word 'informatio', which means 'to give form to the mind'.So,information means giving idea or giving form to something.

Definition

     It is defined as the knowledge communicated or received concerning a particular fact or circumstances.

Meaning 

      Information is data that is accurate and timely, it is specific and organized for a purpose,presented within a context that gives it meaning and relevance,and it can be lead to increase in understanding.

Characteristics of informati

     i) Pragmatics

                     Pragmatics is concerned with the purpose of communication.It focuses on the context and the intentions of information communicated to the individual      

ii)Semantics

                    It is concerned with the meaning of a message conveyed in the communicative act.

 iii) Syntax

                    It is concerned with the form of information,its grammar and logic

  iv)Empirics

                    It deals with the mode of transmission of information.It is the channels of  communication of information, that is sound,light,electronic transmission etc.

Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligenc Gardner is a developmental psychologist who suggested that people can be intelligent in more than one way.  In recent years, however,  views of intelligence have emerged, including Gardner's suggestion that  different types of intelligence may exist. Assessment of Intelligence Test:  Types of Intelligence Tests : Intelligence tests may be classified under three categories: 1. Individual Tests: These tests are administered to one individual at a time. These cover age group from 2 years to 18 years. These are: (a) The Binet- Simon Tests, (b) Revised Tests by Terman, (c) Mental Scholastic Tests of Burt, and (d) Wechsler Test. 2. Group Tests: Group tests are administered to a group of people Group tests had their birth in America – when the intelligence of the recruits who joined the army in the First World War was to be calculated.
